When you drive a new vehicle off the lot, it starts depreciating. Depending on the model, it can depreciate up to ten percent in the first month and up to 30 percent in the first year.
When you buy a used vehicle, a large portion of the depreciation has already happened. The vehicle you buy will hold its current value longer. The lower sticker price based on the current value often means either lower monthly payments or a shorter loan term.

You can end up increasing the total amount by several thousand dollars. A used vehicle already has those options installed and included in the price. The price you see upfront is what you pay.
